FOCUS : Four Enemies of the Heart
Guilt; Anger; Greed; Jealously
GUILT- the fact of having committed a breach of conduct especially violating law and involving a penalty; feelings of deserving blame especially for imagined offenses or from a sense of inadequacy.
ANGER- a strong feeling of displeasure and usually of antagonism.
GREED- a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (such as money) than is needed.
JEALOUSLY- hostile toward a rival or one believed to enjoy an advantage; disposed to suspect rivalry or unfaithfulness: ENVIOUS
These four emotions control all of us. Most of us are not likely to struggle with all four of these, but we do struggle with at least one. According to Andy Stanley, author of “ Enemies of the Heart.”
Left unchallenged they have the power to destroy your home, your career, and your friendships/relationships. How can these four emotions have such a major impact on us?
A physically unhealthy heart can destroy your body, an emotionally and spiritually unhealthy heart can destroy you and your relationships. When was the last time you had a spiritual heart checkup?
*Look within yourself for the four common “Enemies of the Heart.”
Read the scriptures below and share what they say to you, about how to handle the enemies of the heart.
