December is associated with themes of rebirth, renewal, and new beginnings. As the last month of the year, it represents a transition point and the closing of one cycle before starting anew. Many cultures and traditions view this time as an opportunity for reflection, purification, and preparing for a fresh start.
CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS AND JESUS
Thought for the Week!
Even Jesus needed "alone time." The Gospels frequently mention that Jesus needed to withdraw from the crowds. One cave where he spent some time is called the Eremos Cave, from which the word "desolate" and "hermit" derive.
Scripture for the Week!
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:6-7
Prayer for the Week!
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. We praise You for His birth and the hope that He brings to our lives. As we celebrate His birth, help us to also remember Your great love for us. Let this Christmas Season be a reminder of all He has done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
